Fashion Week in Lodz

Friday the 6th of May, already the second Fashion Week in Lodz will be opened with the special showroom event. The organizers idea is to promote Polish Fashion as well as international designers. Hence, numerous fashion shows, exhibitions, discussion panels and competition will be held during over  a 7-days event.

Lodz was chosen to host the Fashion Week not without a reason. It is its history and a textile industry heritage reaching back over 100 years ago, when the city was in its economical highs and many fortunes grew on cotton manufacturing.

Highlights:

Friday:

Zlota Nitka (Golden Thread) international competition in pret-a-porter and premiére vision category.  The winners of both groups will be chosen out of 10 finalists.

Saturday:

Designers’ Avenue starting from 2 p.m. with a special show of Academy of Fine Arts’. Afterwards from 3 p.m. at the Expo Hall, 7 Polish designers will present their latest collection. Late in the evening, a special show of the French designer Eymeric Francois is closing the event.

During the day also off-shows and presentations of upcoming young designers will be presented at the Lodz Art Center.

Sunday:

Sundays Fashion Show’s pearl is the collection of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada from Spain, whose colorful vision of the female clothing have gained admiration and recognition not only on the Iberian Peninsula.

Monday:

A well known Portuguese male fashion designer Nuno Gama will be presenting his eccentric collection amongst other designers from Poland, Russia and Belarus.
