Non-smoking Poland

As of November, 15. a new smoking ban comes into life. All public places including bars, cafes, restaurants, nightclubs, hospitals, sports club and many others are officially non-smoking places.

The initiative follows a European directive to ban smoking from public places. Poland joins now Sweden, Germany and many other European countries where passive smoking is no longer an issue.

All bars and restaurants wanting to invite smokers as their guests need to have a separate smoking room with an appropriate ventilation system.

Currently it is estimated Poland has over 9 million active smokers.
